VIEWS OF ORDER

Exhibition, 2008, Platina Stockholm

"Views of Order" is a reflection on differing aspects of order. The exhibition is presented in a number of chapters where each piece is an illustration of my personal view on subjects such as personal integrity, sexual hierarchy, social structure and knowing your place in it all. The sculpture "Be nice" was purchased by the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg for there collection.

From "Breakthrough", group exhibition at Gallery Reinstein and Ross in New York 2017.

CROWN JEWELS

Series of pieces during the years 2009-

"Beauty changes, breaks down and is reborn. Perfection can no longer be believed in. The 20th century Scandinavian dream of the perfect land with ergonomic seating, super-sonic aeroplanes, the pill and shatter-proof porcelain has eroded and evaporated.
Åsa Lockners art does not require perfection from the wearer, on the contrary her jewellery relates to the body, protecting it and says that change is as it should be, that mortality is beautiful." by Petter Eklund

The very first in the "Crown Jewels" series from 2009. Presented at the fair Collect the same year.

A BODY OF WORK

Exhibition, 2008, Konsthantverkarna Stockholm

For some time now my work has been strongly influenced by the frail character our existence. I feel compelled to make work that lasts but reassured by the knowledge that everything unavoidably breaks down in time. In ”A Body Of Work” I returned to a larger format, work that is static and not meant to be worn. It’ is a consoling thought that despite my objects inherent stillness every outer influence will still contributes to their slow decay, that nothing lasts forever.

Earrings in oxidized silver and green amethysts, from 2011.
